Standard grade quartz watches have movements that are most economically replaced completely rather than being disassembled and serviced.
High grade quartz watches have serviceable movements which are sufficiently costly so that servicing is more economical than replacement. Older quartz watches for which complete movements are no longer available are also included this category.
Seiko Kinetic and Citizen Eco-Drive watches are very reliable. Generally if they are not performing correctly the fault is not the result of a need for service, but rather an issue with the charging of the electrical storage device, which is either a rechargeable battery or a capacitor. Each of these watches needs to be quoted on an individual case basis.
